PUT THE KETTLE ON

This heartwarming Irish Soda Bread recipe originates from Granny Breen's wood burning stove. Cooked on an iron skiilet servied with slabs of butter and jam. A sure fire cure to heal skinned knees, bruised shins and hurt feelings.

Blend 2 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking soda, set aside.

Add 1 tbsp. vinegar to 1 cup of milk.

Let mixture rest 10 minutes.

Mix wet and dry ingredients and let dough rest for 10 minutes.

Transfer dough to lightly floured skillet.

Bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes.

Make sure you sit on the floor watching impatiently for the dough to rise.

Remove from the oven. Spread with butter and bake for another 5-7 minutes.

Let cool before removing from the skillet.
